Someone, just get it done

Nearly six months after drawing attention to debris left on two New Norfolk roads from trucks working at a development site, I said I would take matters into my own hands — and ute.

I live opposite the development on the former Royal Derwent Hospital property in Ring Road. Clay, silt and rocks on Ring Road and Hobart Road affect traction and road safety.

The Noble Life development is absolutely needed for growth in the Derwent Valley, but it is coming with a lot of mess from the trucks coming in and out of Ring Road onto Hobart Road.

When you drive on Hobart Road up to Ring Road heading towards Hobart, you can clearly see that it is clear on the side of the road, and then you get to Ring Road and it is as dirty as hell. I don’t know why it’s so hard to see that, but apparently it is.

If it wants to bounce back and forth between State Growth and the council, because no one can work out whose responsibility it is, that’s just another layer of nonsense. We are paying for services and we should get those services.

We are now at a precipice where I have said I will sweep this whole road myself and, pending possible infringement, which I don’t care, I will dump it out the front of wherever is responsible.

Someone, just get it done. You should be able to go to someone and say, look, I have a problem. Can you help me? We need more people doing what needs to be done.
